A Rare Complication of Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy: Cerebral Infarction and Hemianopsia

Since its description in 1976, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) has become the most common surgical technique for the management of large and complex stones in the intrarenal collecting system. A wide variety of complications can be observed, including bleeding associated with this procedure, damage to neighboring tissues and organs, infection, positional injuries, thromboembolic events, and even death. Knowing and predicting the different complications can be useful in preventing, diagnosing and preventing complications. We aimed to present the management of cerebral infarction and hemianopsia after PNL to our clinic as a case report.

Perkütan Nefrolitotomide Nadir Bir Komplikasyon: Serebral İnfarktüs ve Hemianopsi

Perkütan nefrolitotomi (PNL) 1976'da tanımlandığından itibaren yaygınlaşarak intrarenal toplayıcı sistemdeki büyük ve kompleks taşlar için en yaygın uygulanan cerrahi teknik halini almıştır. Bu prosedüre bağlı kanama, komşu doku ve organlara zarar verme, enfeksiyon, pozisyona bağlı yaralanmalar, tromboembolik olaylar ve hatta ölüm dahil olmak çok çeşitli komplikasyon gözlenebilir. Farklı komplikasyonların bilinip tahmin edilmesi, korunma, teşhis etme ve komplikasyonların önlenmesi noktasında faydalı olabilir. Kliniğimize PNL sonrası serebral enfarktüs ve hemianopsi gelişen hastanın yönetimini olgu sunumu olarak sunmayı amaçladık.
