Aims & Scope

Haydarpaşa Numune Medical Journal is the scientific, peer-reviewed, open-access publication of the University of Health Sciences, Türkiye, Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. The journal is freely accessible online through its website [www.hnhtipdergisi.com]. Four issues are published annually, in March, June, September, and December. The journal publishes manuscripts in English.

The aim of the journal is to publish high-quality scientific studies that contribute to clinical practice, medical education, and experimental medicine. Haydarpaşa Numune Medical Journal primarily considers manuscripts in the fields of clinical medicine, surgical sciences, internal medicine, basic medical sciences, emergency medicine, public health, and related interdisciplinary areas of healthcare.

The journal welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, narrative reviews addressing current developments in medicine, case reports presenting rare, educational, or clinically important findings, and letters to the editor. Studies that provide new clinical data, evaluate diagnostic or therapeutic approaches, report epidemiological findings, or contribute to the understanding of disease mechanisms are within the scope of the journal.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo an initial editorial evaluation for suitability with the journal’s aims, scope, and publication standards. Manuscripts deemed suitable are then evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by external and independent reviewers. The final decision regarding publication is made by the editorial board based on reviewer recommendations, scientific quality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Haydarpaşa Numune Medical Journal is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in all stages of publication. All submitted manuscripts must comply with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki, as revised in 2013, and with internationally accepted guidelines on publication ethics. For studies involving human participants, authors must obtain approval from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board before the study is conducted. The name of the ethics committee, approval date, and approval number must be clearly stated in the manuscript.

For studies involving human participants, patients, or patient data, authors must confirm that written informed consent was obtained when required. For case reports or studies containing identifiable patient information, images, or clinical details, written informed consent for publication must be obtained from the patient or the patient’s legal representative. For animal studies, authors must state that the study was approved by the relevant animal experiments ethics committee and conducted in accordance with applicable institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals.

Clinical trials must be registered in a publicly accessible clinical trial registry before patient enrollment. The registry name and registration number should be provided in the manuscript. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their work. Plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate submission, redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, and undisclosed conflicts of interest are not acceptable.
